I’m José Luis, from Andahuaylas in the Peruvian Andes. I studied systems engineering there and I still write code most days.

At SIGATICS, a small software company I help lead, we build systems for schools, public institutions and small businesses across Peru. One of them is SIGA CETPRO PERÚ, an academic management platform for technical schools. The software has to survive a slow connection in a town a long way from Lima.

The other half of my week is at a mining company, working on SAP Business One and the systems around it. I arrived as an intern in 2023 and stayed because the problems kept being interesting. Most of that work is unglamorous: integrations, add-ons, and validations that stop an ERP from accepting nonsense.

In August 2025 I started a master’s in Artificial Intelligence at UNI. My undergraduate thesis had already been a deep-learning model for detecting COVID-19 in chest X-rays, and what draws me now is the same thing it was then: models pointed at specific, unglamorous problems that nobody has bothered to solve locally.

I read more than I finish, I write in two languages, and I record videos about SAP and AI. This site is where all of it ends up.
